State Annual 1966

his photo from the 1966 state annual meeting captures President Elton R. Smith (right) welcoming three newcomers to the MFB Board of Directors: Raymond Launstein of Williamston (standing); Nicholas Smith of Addison (seated left), and John Laurie of Cass City (seated center). Laurie would go on to lead the organization as well, succeeding Smith in 1987 after his 22-year tenure as president. The photo appears on page 5 of the Dec. 1, 1966 edition of the Michigan Farm News.
